On a super cold day in Seattle, I can’t think of anything more heart-warming than to sip some hot drinking chocolate or a double macchiato at Chocolati Café on 45th Street in Wallingford, or Wallyhood, as the neighborhood’s fondly known. You can peer upon the passersby, bundled up against the unseasonably low temps, from the 2nd story windows while your hands are kept warm around your mug.

In the 80’s ZZ Top sang about having a Party on the Patio. Now, outdoor living space has become an extension of a home. While patio furniture used to be commonplace, the options now to spruce up your patio are just about endless. The latest and greatest seems to be the way of the housing industry. In my experience, home buyers are always looking for the next trend.  With new construction, where new trends often begin, outdoor amenities, like covered patios with a fireplace, are becoming common place. The following are some of the popular outdoor living space conveniences.

We’re in the dog days of summer, and the days are already getting noticeably shorter. I grieve during this time of year, when the cooler breeze comes back and scarves once again become a part of my daily wardrobe. Summer is already coming to an end, but in the Pacific Northwest we’re blessed to have incredible weather late into September. So fire up the patio heaters, and get outside to soak up the last hoorahs of the season. Here are a few ideas for hosting in the great outdoors.

Summer is (un)officially here!! And I am loving every second of it. With the warm weather, long evenings, and laid back vibe we have been taking advantage and spending more time together outside. But even with the array of recreation activities available, it’s easy to get stuck in a rut. So if you need some inspiration for a fun date night outdoors, look no further.

Live comfortably, close to major cities, with a gorgeous view of Mt. Rainier, and plenty of local activities all year long. In a nutshell, that’s Puyallup! But the appeal of this town goes beyond pretty scenery and fun fairs.
